The Grainge is a state of the art 3G pitch facility.
It has been specifically designed to meet the demands of professional football and rugby – meeting the highest specification requirements of FIFA and World Rugby - but also suited to a wide range of other sporting activities.
Completed in 2013, the Grainge has proved an invaluable asset to the school, used for both curricular and co-curricular activities as well as matches. It was made possible through the generosity of Mrs. Mary Webster, the daughter of Old Grovian and former rugby league international Leslie Grainge and is a fitting and lasting legacy to one of our greatest sporting alumni, offering existing Woodhouse Grove pupils a top quality training and learning facility to help build future sporting success.
The pitch is also used by our principle partner Bradford City Football Club (Senior Squad and Academy) as well as other parties that have included the RFU, commercial football associations and local football and rugby clubs – including Old Grovians RUFC.
