Belonging to one of our four Houses is an integral part of life at Brontë.
Each House takes its name from a hill in the Yorkshire Dales; Penny Ghent, Buckden Pike, Whernside and Ingleborough. Each child is allocated a house when they begin Year 1 and we aim to ensure that siblings join the same House.
Children contribute House Points for excellent behavior and work and a weekly celebration of House Point totals plays an important role in motivation Brontë House children to work hard and do their best.
Children in Year 6 take on the role of House Captain and lead their Houses in a range of academic and sporting activities and competitions.
One of the strengths of our House system is that it provides opportunities for children of all ages to interact with one another and friendships can be formed across different year groups and Key Stages.
