Invitation to Open Evening Thursday 16th November

I am delighted to invite you to our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 16th November.
The evening will begin at 6.30pm and all pupils in Year 11 and their parents are welcome to attend. You DO not need to register for this event.

On the evening you will find out about the specific subjects on offer in our Sixth Form and have the opportunity to talk to staff and students studying these subjects, you will also hear more about our different Sixth Form pathways and learn about the other opportunities that are available in the Sixth Form at The Grove. We will also share more information with you about the new Sixth Form building which is due to be completed later this year and will be fully operational early in 2024. This will provide additional study space for individuals or small groups as well as Sixth Form classrooms and seminar rooms.

Students should leave the evening with all the information they need to start considering what their Sixth Form journey will look like.

Shape your pathway to suit you

No two students are the same, which is why our sixth form is designed to offer more options than just subject choices.

Choose A-levels, even study an extra one. Opt for up to 60 days of industry experience with one of our partner businesses. Take one of the select BTECs we offer. Whichever academic pathway you pick, we’ll tailor our timetables to give you the best chance of studying what you want.

Whether you plan to go on to university, a Degree Apprenticeship or straight into work, or if you’re unsure, our sixth form will prepare you for your next step.

Forward-thinking in every sense

Offering a wide range of co-curricular activities, from academic talks and opportunities like Chemistry Olympiad, to musical groups and sports teams, you’ll learn life lessons that can’t be taught in classrooms.

Life Skills – another essential yet unique part of our programme – also helps make the next steps easier. Spanning everything from financial planning to relevant career talks, these sessions prepare you for life after The Grove.

Your very own space

Our dedicated Sixth Form centre is a space that’s just for you. Use its roomy common room and workspaces for independent study, group work or downtime. There’s even somewhere to get something to eat – Woody’s Café – and pastoral staff are on hand, if you need any advice or support.

The new Sixth Form building will be open in Spring 24, so you will be the first year group to experience this great new space at the beginning of their Sixth Form journey.

Your future starts here

Our flexible sixth form is designed to ensure you excel in the real world. When you finish your studies here, you’ll be prepared emotionally and academically for anything – starting university, your Degree Apprenticeship, work in the real world, anything you want to do in the future.

What happens before Open Evening?
