Chapel
The beautiful Victorian Gothic Wesleyan Woodhouse Grove Chapel stands at the edge of the campus, away from the demands of academic life and provides a quiet space in which to think and reflect.
Library
Remaining open after school until 6.00pm, with our librarians always on hand to offer advice, the Library is the place where our students can find the resources they need to support their academic study – and is also a quiet environment where they may enjoy recreational reading. The library also houses a computer suite with facilities for accessing the Internet, printing and photocopying.
The Grainge All Weather Pitch
A state of the art 3G pitch facility, The Grainge meets the highest specification requirements of FIFA and World Rugby - but is also suited to a wide range of other sporting activities.
The Sports Centre
A comprehensive array of facilities supporting a wide range of sports and activities, including a 36m x 20.2m sports hall, multigym, aerobics studio and a fencing salle.
Davy Performing Arts Centre
The 230 seat Grove Theatre provides an excellent multi-functional, flexible performance space for theatrical productions and musical events and there is a state-of-the-art technical studio that enables professional standard sound and lighting.
A number of smaller performance and practice spaces include a music recital room, drama studio, keyboard room, computer room, a recording studio and 12 practice rooms.
The Morton Hall
A multi-use sports facility that doubles up as a specialist exam hall, The Morton Hall is also used for assemblies and exhibitions on a regular basis. Sporting activities that take place here include gymnastics, aerobics, dance, fencing, circuit training, table tennis and archery.
Design & Technology Facility
Following a large investment in 2014 the D & T department now enjoys fantastic workshop environments, design suites and its own computer room which compliments a host of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) equipment.
Sixth Form Centre
Sixth Form facilities include a spacious and comfortable common room with access to the ever popular “Woody’s Café. The Sixth Form Pastoral staff have offices in the Common Room area and are so are always on hand to provide support and advice.
The Climbing Wall
Fully equipped with helmets, harnesses, belay devices and fourteen ropes, the wall offers over thirty climbs, catering for a variety of abilities. The climbing wall routes are reset twice a year to offer a fresh challenge.
The Fitness Suite
The Fitness Suite offers a range of cardiovascular facilities comprising of treadmills, spinning bikes, rowing machines, steppers and cross trainers - plus resistance based equipment including both free and fixed weights and a high spec lifting platform. It is open for recreational use before school from 7-7.45am and after school from 4-5.15pm.
Language Lab
This combines the advantages of a traditional language lab - providing individual listening and speaking facilities under the teacher’s supervision - with those of a modern, networked computer suite, enabling students to access relevant websites and a wealth of online language learning resources.
Brontë House
To Brontë House – the junior school of Woodhouse Grove for children aged 3-11. Brontë enjoys its own facilities on a superb site situated half a mile from the Senior School and includes our purpose built Early Years provision, Ashdown Lodge.
Jubilee Swimming Pool
The 25m level deck competition pool, with depths ranging from 9m to 1.8m, provides a safe, comfortable environment for swimming lessons - whilst its width of 12.5m enables up to 6 lanes to be accommodated, providing a fantastic setting for competitive swimming. The pool is an Approved Training Centre regulated by the Institute of Qualified Lifeguards and so is equipped to deliver Aquatic and Lifeguard Training courses
