A Taste of The Grove

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” – Virginia Woolf

Great food fuels great minds and, at The Grove, we take pride in providing our pupils with a delicious, varied and nutritious menu to enable them to achieve their very best – both in and out of the classroom.

This starts with breakfast – which is included in our fees and available to all our pupils; both day and boarders. We get through 1,750 loaves of bread each year for breakfast toast, which is on offer alongside cereals, porridge, fruit and a variety of cooked options including eggs, sausages and hash browns.

Our lunchtime menus cater for all dietary requirements and tastes – and we are a nut free school.  Student favourites include the lemon chicken stir fry – which comes with broccoli, prawn crackers and sweet chilli sauce and our famous Grove lasagne with garlic bread – both with vegetarian alternatives, of course. Roast Wednesday is also always a big hit, especially when cream gratin potatoes or Yorkshire puddings appear as side options! Desserts vary from that school stalwart, crumble and custard, to a variety of baked treats. Did you know, our amazing catering team frost 13,200 cupcakes a year?!

Pupils can also sign up to have dinner at school – which is also included in our fees. This is a much-valued option that enables school to merge seamlessly with home life and family logistics and illustrates how we view mealtimes at The Grove. More than just a time to refuel, they are an opportunity to come together, recharge and build a sense of community. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast to start the day, a satisfying lunch to re-energise between lessons or a warming dinner to wind down at the end of a productive day, our goal is to ensure every pupil feels nourished both physically and emotionally. After all, great meals are the foundation of great achievements – and, at The Grove, we are proud to serve both.

I am the very best of me.

I am Grovian.
