Over the Easter break, our Gold DofE students took on Nidderdale in a 3-day practice expedition and what a challenge it was.
Through relentless rain, they showed true resilience, teamwork and determination every step of the way. We couldn’t be prouder of how they supported each other.
And a first for us… dressing gowns on expedition! Proof that even in the toughest conditions, spirits stayed high.

While everyone has been enjoying a well-deserved (and hopefully restful!) Easter break, it’s been full steam ahead behind the scenes at both The Grove and Brontë House.
At The Grove, we’ve been making improvements across the site, from a brand-new Maidaid-Halcyon QX246 flight dishwasher (capable of washing over 2,400 plates per hour) and a fully refurbished wash-up area, to a new lighting system, stainless double sink with high-powered jet spray, refreshed science staircase, updated Martin Hall stairs and the transformation of the Art IT room into a dedicated studio space.
Up at Brontë House, the dining hall has been freshly painted, new fencing installed around the netball court, playground and car park and work has been underway at South Lodge, including new flooring and a kitchen upgrade.
We are always committed to investing in our school environments and holiday periods give us the perfect opportunity to make meaningful improvements while students are away. Every update supports our ongoing mission to grow, improve and provide the very best for our pupils.
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to see the progress.
I am part of something incredible.
I am Grovian.

Our House system continues to provide students with a wide range of opportunities to engage, collaborate, and excel beyond the classroom.
Students are actively earning points for their Houses through a variety of competitions; these activities encourage teamwork, resilience, and a healthy sense of competition, while allowing students to showcase their diverse talents.
We look forward to seeing how the leaderboard develops as we head into Summer Term!
I am committed and resilient.
I am Grovian.
