Woodhouse Grove on Facebook
Today at The Grove we planted 15 apple trees across the grounds. Fruit trees blossoms provide an important nectar source for pollinators and in time will provide fresh apples for our students and staff! 🍎🌳
We have recently signed up with Avails Energy as our new energy broker. For every meter (gas/electric) they take over, they will plant a fruit tree. This is part of our efforts to stay green at The Grove!

We are delighted that our new covered outdoor courts are OPEN!
We know there has been much speculation over their name, but they are not in a barn or under a dome - so they take the name of THE BOLT COURTS.
Named after a teacher, Ronald Bolt who worked at the school from 1941-1981. Yes, 40 years! He was a Physics teacher but his passion was ball sport, particularly tennis – but we reckon he would have liked Netball too!
The ‘official’ opening is being planned but our students are already enjoying using them and they are available to hire now.

Last week, the second stage of St Bede’s and Joseph’s chess tournament took place. This was a monumental occasion for chess at the Grove since it was the first for at least 15 years!
The under 13 team played bravely when opposed by mainly experienced older students. They also had many standout results, these included beating Bradford Grammar School A without a loss, and beating St Bede’s and Saint Joseph’s without a loss.
The A team consisting of Rakelmi, Charlie, Zac and Samuel also had an incredible tournament. They placed second after the first part of the tournament with zero losses, but at an unlucky run of matches finished 12. It was a great tournament, and the teams can’t wait for future fixtures.
