Annabel Gracey, Y8, has made theatre history as the first girl to land the part of drummer Freddy in the hit West End musical School of Rock. Andrew Lloyd Webber himself was so impressed with Annabel’s talent that he gave the go ahead for the many performance and script changes required for her to step into what was previously a boy’s role.

Annabel’s mum, Sarah, told us:

We found out Annabel had been offered the role of Freddy at the end of June, and to this day we still can’t quite believe it. It is lovely to see her dedication to music and all the hard work she put into the auditions pay off. She is having the time of her life!
