Isaac Lockett, Year 13, is one of 2 pupils who have recently submitted a 5,000 word essay for their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). This is a voluntary, AS level equivalent qualification that Isaac has undertaken to demonstrate his interest in Sports Psychology – which he hopes to read at University.
Isaac’s researched his essay “Has Cricket Improved Relationships in South Africa” by interviewing various professionals ranging from doctors to ex-professional cricketers, situated in destinations ranging from Florida to South Africa itself. He prepared a presentation detailing his methods of research and his essay is now with the external EPQ Exam Board for marking.
Currently studying Psychology, Politics and History at A Level, Isaac also plays and coaches cricket for St. Chad’s Broomfield Cricket Club. He says he has learned a lot from his EPQ project, which covered a multitude of social and cultural factors. It has certainly strengthened his ambition to study Sports Psychology in greater depth when he leaves Woodhouse Grove.
Isaac will get his EPQ results in January. We have every confidence that his hard work and determination will pay off.
I am every lesson that has opened my eyes.
