School Prefects are selected based on their contribution to the school and their ability to be true ambassadors of Woodhouse Grove. And none more so than our Head Prefects.
For 2016/17, we are delighted that Katie Mortlock and Sam Bean have been appointed.
Katie joined the school in Year 7 from the Froebelian School in Horsforth. She is studying Maths, Economics and Psychology – which she hopes to read at University next year. Katie’s talents don’t just lie in the classroom. Following the 2016 Netball Tour to Antigua and St Kitts, she has also been appointed the 2016/17 School Netball Captain. In her spare time Katie is a keen baker and is a big fan of the GBBO!
Sam joined Brontё House in Y2 and is both a keen sportsman and a highly accomplished trumpet player. Sam enjoys travelling and visited South Africa on rugby tour in 2015 as well as travelling to the Caribbean on the 2016 Cricket Tour. Sam is studying Chemistry, Biology and Physics and is currently deciding what course he would like to study at University next September.
Although they arrived here at different stages in their school careers, both Katie and Sam agree that the Grove has given them the confidence and opportunities to be the very best of themselves. They are honoured to be leading a team of 18 School Prefects this academic year and will be involved with many of our school events, including meeting prospective parents and students at our Open Mornings. We are certain that they will be inspirational role models to our younger pupils and wish them all the very best for the coming year.
