SHINE Awards for Brontё House pupils
At Woodhouse Grove, we have always been proud to recognise talent and maximise potential. We want to identify exceptional pupils at the very beginning of their Year 7 journey and give them the opportunity to tell us what makes them shine.
We are inviting our current Year 6 Brontё House pupils to apply for a SHINE Award for Year 7 entry. SHINE Awards recognise exceptional talent and achievement, and are designed for pupils who are outstanding for their age.
SHINE Awards will be offered across our three focus categories.
- Academic
- Sport
- Performing Arts & Music
Successful applicants will receive both recognition for their achievement and a financial award.

Please read the detailed criteria for each SHINE Award category before applying.
These awards are designed for pupils who are outstanding for their age – those who are performing at an exceptional level (for example in the top 5%) within their school year, club, performance group or musical discipline. We are looking for evidence of excellence, rather than simply enthusiasm or participation.
The following application form for Year 7 SHINE Awards is for Brontё House pupils only. If your child is currently at another school, please fill in our External Candidate Application Form.
To avoid unnecessary disappointment, please read the criteria for entry carefully before applying for a SHINE Award.
The deadline for all September 2027 Entry SHINE Award applications is 31st October 2026.
