Woodhouse Grove School announces a landmark partnership with Chelsea Football Club, creating world-class opportunities while staying true to the values that have defined generations of sporting success.

For generations, Woodhouse Grove has built a reputation for sporting achievement through determination, resilience, ambition and hard work. Never defined by its size, the School has consistently punched above its weight, producing talented athletes and fostering a culture where character and commitment are valued as highly as success.

Now, through its partnership with one of the world’s most recognised football clubs, Woodhouse Grove is taking that tradition to a new level.

The collaboration combines Woodhouse Grove’s long-standing commitment to developing young people with Chelsea FC’s globally respected footballing pedigree, creating exceptional opportunities for the next generation of athletes.

At the heart of the partnership is the launch of a new Football Specialism programme, designed to provide young players with access to elite coaching, development opportunities and industry-leading support.

From September 2027, boys and girls will be able to join the programme in Years 9 and 12, with both boarding and day places available. Applications will open in September 2026.

Crucially, the Football Specialism sits alongside Woodhouse Grove’s commitment to academic excellence and its forward-thinking Sixth Form Pathways programme. Pupils will benefit from an education that prepares them for success both on and off the pitch, combining elite sporting development with personalised academic and career pathways designed to help them thrive in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing world.

The partnership further strengthens Woodhouse Grove’s growing reputation as a destination for ambitious young athletes and complements the School’s expanding specialist sports offering, including the Grove Golf Academy. Together, these programmes provide pupils with more opportunities than ever before to pursue their sporting ambitions while receiving an outstanding education and developing the skills, qualifications and experiences needed for future success.

Bradford City AFC continues to be a highly valued partner of Woodhouse Grove. The education of Academy scholars, the use of our facilities and our collaborative work with the Club will continue exactly as before. This new relationship with Chelsea FC is complementary, creating additional opportunities for our young people within our existing football provision.
