Golf Day 2026

It may have rained for part of the day, but the true Grovian spirit was out in full force as players came together for a fantastic Old Grovian Golf Day at Bradford Golf Club on Sunday 3 May.
Despite the weather, spirits remained high throughout, with plenty of laughter, friendly competition and determination on display from every four ball. The day began with tea, coffee and bacon butties at registration before teams headed out for a 1:00pm tee time.
The event concluded with a well-earned two-course evening meal, rounding off a brilliant day on and off the course. It was also wonderful to welcome three Old Grovians as guests for the evening meal, joining friends to reunite with an OG who had travelled from Switzerland to take part in the golf day. Any years apart soon disappeared as conversations flowed, school day photos were shared and memories revisited throughout the evening.
Competition Results
Winning Four Ball: Paul Morris (72–79), Richard Linkogel (73–80), Keith Secker (70–79), Nick Driver (69–79)
Longest Drive: Martyn Bray (99–01)
Nearest the Pin: Chris Kippax (79–85)
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and supported the day. The raffle alone raised an impressive £470 for the Woodhouse Grove School Foundation, alongside additional net profit from the “Halfway House on wheels” – a new addition to the event this year and a real highlight of the day!
Thank you to all players and supporters for making the day such a success.
