Great GCSE results and a new Sixth Form Centre awaits…..

Our Year 11 pupils have done us proud as we celebrate another year of great GCSE results. Almost a quarter of pupils have achieved at least 6 top grades (A grade equivalent), with 86% obtaining 5 or more GCSEs, including English and Maths.

The Woodhouse Grove ethos of helping each student become “the best that they can be”, uniquely gives co-curricular activities such as sport, music, drama and art equal emphasis to academic work. We go to great lengths to help individual students balance their extra interests with their academic study, aiming to develop well rounded, happy and resilient individuals who have a determination to succeed.

This approach continues into our Sixth form where has there been significant investment in facilities over the summer holidays. The Sixth Form Centre has been re-designed to provide the perfect balance between independent work space, social areas and information hubs to give our Sixth formers the perfect environment to thrive.

Congratulations to our top performers, with numbers of top grades, A*/8/9, in brackets, were Aisha Mian and Nicole Swinnerton (10), Abi Roche (8), Adam Khan, Jude Hall, Rheagan Randall and James Swarbrigg (7), Abbie Hinchliffe and Alex Ranson (5).

James Lockwood, Headmaster  says:

I am delighted that our GCSE pupils have achieved such excellent results and am immensely proud of each and every one of them – as are our staff, who have dedicated themselves to ensuring each student realises their full potential. Whilst all our pupils achieve and contribute so much in many different fields during their time at the Grove, it is marvellous to see their academic efforts rewarded. They have achieved grades of which they can be proud and that are a fair reflection of their hard work and conscientious approach. I would like to add that, whilst we celebrate the superb results of our academic high flyers, we are equally as proud of those for who academic achievement comes less easily but who have risen to the challenge like true Grovians. Well done everyone!

Congratulations Year 11’s – we can’t wait to see what you do next!

I am my unlocked potential. I am Grovian
