School Rugby 1st Team reach the Quarter Finals…

Could this be the year?

This year’s 1st XV have done what no other Grove Rugby 1st team in the school’s history has achieved… they have reached the last 8 in the country in the Schools Cup.

An impressive run featuring wins against QEGs and King’s School, Macclesfield led them to RGS Newcastle yesterday, where a result of 21-13 put the team straight into the quarter finals. We nervously await the next draw to see who the Grove will face next, in a game scheduled to be played week commencing the 3rd December.

This team may currently be undefeated but Saturday will test their fight and determination as we welcome Sedbergh 1st XV to the Grove for the first time in history. The northern rugby powerhouse, who are also unbeaten this season, will make the journey to the Grove on Saturday for a kick off at 14:30.  This game is as big as they get…so why not come down to the Grove for an afternoon of exciting rugby and show our boys some great Grovian support.

You can do it boys.

I am the very best of me.
