GCSE Results 2024 are in!

We have so much to celebrate this year, our Year 11s determination, resilience, and unwavering positivity in the face of extraordinary challenges have been nothing short of inspiring. It fills us with immense pride that so many of them are choosing to continue their journey with us in the Sixth Form at The Grove.

These young people have navigated a path fraught with obstacles, beginning their secondary school journey during the height of the COVID pandemic—a time when the foundations of their academic future were being laid.

The success reflected in these results is a testament to our students, the tireless dedication of our teaching staff, and the unwavering support from parents.

Key highlights include:

A pass rate of 89%, a testament to the hard work and determination of our students.

25% of the year group secured 75% of their results in high grades (A equivalent), showcasing their academic excellence.

93 pupils in the cohort achieved 5 or more GCSE passes, including mathematics and English, setting a solid foundation for their future academic and career pursuits.

Our top performing students include Shreya Naik (9 subjects at Grades 8/9) Liam Matley and Zachary Taylor (8 subjects at Grades 8/9) and Maisey Bellwood, Pippa Green and Zac Nelson (7 subjects at Grade 8/9).

As we celebrate the stellar achievements of our academic high-flyers, we are equally moved by those students for whom academic success has been a more challenging journey. Their courage and determination to rise to the occasion exemplifies what it means to be a true Grovian.

Congratulations to our Year 11! You have overcome incredible challenges, adapted to new learning techniques, persevered through disruptions that would have daunted many. You have made us all incredibly proud, and we are honoured to have been part of your journey.

I am the very best of me.
I am Grovian.

“We are delighted with the GCSE results our students have achieved this year. Each one of you has demonstrated extraordinary commitment and perseverance, and we, the staff, are incredibly proud of what you have accomplished.

This year’s success is particularly meaningful given the unique challenges you faced. Starting your secondary education during the COVID pandemic presented unprecedented difficulties. You navigated disruptions, adapted to new learning methods, and overcame hurdles with remarkable resilience. Your ability to excel despite these challenges speaks volumes about your dedication and strength.

Your achievements are not just impressive; they are truly inspiring. As we celebrate the academic excellence of those who have achieved outstanding results, we are equally proud of those who faced more obstacles and still persevered. Your determination embodies the true spirit of The Grove.

Looking ahead, we are excited to see those that are staying at The Grove thrive in our Sixth Form. We eagerly anticipate watching your future successes unfold as you build on the strong foundation you’ve established. Well done!”
