Congratulations Class of 2024 – we always knew you’d smash it!
Well, the results are in and our Class of 2024 have done themselves proud. Throughout their time at The Grove, this year group have demonstrated the Grovian Values of being Committed & Resilient and have approached their A-levels with diligence and determination. We are delighted that their hard work has paid off.
41% of this cohort have achieved ABB or better results.
Of our university applicants, well over 90% have already achieved places at their university of choice, with a small number of the remaining students waiting to hear back from various establishments.

Kaitlyn Walsh – A*AA plus A*in Finance – studying Law at University of Oxford
Nina Hawkshaw – A*A*AA – studying Games Design at Leeds Arts University
Abigail Lewis – A*A*AA – studying Aerospace Engineering at University of Sheffield
Rainie Ngai – A*A*AAB – studying Economics and Finance at Manchester University
Nathan Flynn– A*AAA plus A* in his EPQ – studying History at Durham University
Nicola Trimby – A*AAAA plus A in AS Further Maths – studying Architecture at Manchester University
Oliver Defurey – A*AAA – studying Economics at University of Bath
Harry Kerfoot – A*AAA – studying Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College, London
Karanjeet Singh– A*AA – studying Design Engineering at Imperial College, London
In addition, two students are going on to study Medicine and two more, Veterinary Medicine.
The Sixth Form at The Grove’s Pathway Programme does not just lead to University. We also congratulate our students who have made the most of the opportunities and programmes available to them and whose qualifications have enabled them to seize opportunities in the world of work and apprenticeships, for example:
Naomi Partridge is starting an apprenticeship at Country Style Foods, Leeds;
Fran Arrandale is embarking on a full-time position with one of our Business Partners following work experience with them throughout her Sixth Form years; and
Sam Vernon is starting a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship with West Yorkshire Police.
It is with great pride that we see our Class of 2024 stride out into the world, towards a wide range of aspirations, armed, not just with excellent exam results but with the great imagination, ambition and confidence imbued by a Grovian education. Congratulations to you all.
And finally, a message from our Headmaster, Mr Lockwood:
‘Congratulations Class of 2024! Your success is a true reflection of your conscientious approach and determination to succeed. I am sure you would also like to join me in thanking our excellent and experienced teaching staff for their endless dedication and enthusiasm. At The Grove, it is important to us to instil more than just academic excellence in our pupils. Throughout your time with us, we have encouraged you to participate in a wide variety of co-curricular activities, alongside your academic studies. We have endeavoured to give importance to your individual strengths, motivations and talents, with the aim of building your self esteem, confidence and resilience – preparing you for “real life” after school. As you move on to life after The Grove, I am confident that the values that have been instilled during your time with us will stand you in good stead. We wish you all the very best for the future and look forward to seeing what you will achieve in the years to come.’
