England Rugby Player and Old Grovian, Ellie Kildunne, back on home turf for Prize Day
We were thrilled to welcome Ellie Kildunne back to The Grove as our Prize Day Guest of Honour.
Ellie certainly made her mark during her time at The Grove between 2011 and 2016. Now a member of the England women’s national rugby union team, Ellie also plays for Harlequins Women at club level. In May, Ellie was a member of the triumphant England Women’s Six Nations Team and, back in October of last year, scored the first try in an unbelievably exciting and memorable Rugby World Cup Final against the hosts, New Zealand.
Ellie’s Prize Day speech gave us an insight into the resilience, commitment and determination she has had to display on her journey to becoming an elite athlete and international rugby player. Her words brought to mind our Grovian Values, which teach us all how to live, work and play with others and be the best that we can be. We hope all our pupils will carry these Values with them as they journey through life – as Ellie so clearly has done.
Thank you Ellie for a truly inspirational speech.
I am everything I want to be.
I am Grovian.
