Exploring Options…Making Choices….

The Sixth Form at The Grove is not just about exam results. Our forward thinking approach ensures that all our Year 12 and 13 pupils are fully prepared for life after The Grove. Our Pathways Programme enables them to investigate a number of different options including university, apprenticeships, employment, Gap Years and travel and study abroad. We remind pupils in Year 12 that they can follow more than one Pathway before making a final choice at the end of Year 13, encouraging them to explore all avenues and to not be too quick to dismiss any route.

The decision making that our young people have to do in Years 12 and 13 will have significant implications for their future. To help our Year 12s as they decide what they are going to do for the three or four years immediately after leaving The Grove, we hold an annual Post 18 Launch Event early in the Summer Term. This year’s event was a huge success and included talks on Apprenticeships, Oxbridge and healthcare as well as 23 different stalls hosted by different universities and employers, providing students with invaluable first-hand information on university life and courses, careers and apprenticeships and employment opportunities. It was wonderful to see some Old Grovians amongst the exhibitors, who had travelled through different routes post school and had now returned to share their experiences with our current pupils.

I am everything I want to be.

I am Grovian.
