Deputy Head Appointment

I am delighted to be able to inform you that, after a thorough recruitment exercise conducted in partnership with the Executive Search firm Odgers Berndston, the unanimous choice of the selection panel for the next Deputy Head of Woodhouse Grove School is Mrs Emma Nulty BA (Hons).

Mrs Nulty is currently Vice Principal and Head of Senior School at Fulneck School; having previously served Fulneck as Head of Sixth Form. Prior to joining the staff at Fulneck, Mrs Nulty was an Assistant Divisional Leader at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College, where she also taught Business Studies and Economics.

Prior to entering the teaching profession, Mrs Nulty gained a BA (Hons) in Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management at the University of Lancaster, and has a strong and proven track record in Senior School Leadership. I have no doubt that her extensive and varied experience of both the academic and pastoral dimensions of school life will be a real asset to the Grove.

Emma is married to Dan, an Old Grovian, and has two young children, Erin and Thomas.

The Governors who sat on the final selection panel were hugely impressed by Emma’s drive and determination, and I am excited at the prospect of the fresh and dynamic leadership she will bring to the whole school community. She has all the experience, ambition and vision to take the School forward, and make a real success of this demanding post, and I have no doubt that she will prove to be an excellent role model for our staff and pupils alike. I am sure that, as you get to know her, you will agree!
