ISI Reports 2017
Woodhouse Grove School ISI Educational Quality Inspection Report 2017
Woodhouse Grove School ISI Focused Compliance Inspection Report 2017
When describing the characteristics of the School, the Inspection Report summarises as follows:
“The School’s aim is to promote academic excellence and to realise the full potential of every individual to be the best that he or she can be, preparing them for the world they will encounter when they leave school. It aims to pursue excellence in the creative arts and in sport, developing fitness and well-being as well as engendering a spirit of healthy competition across the whole school. Equally, the School seeks to foster mature, caring behaviour, to promote high standards of social responsibility and to encourage leadership. adventure and self-discovery. The School wishes to endorse the values of integrity, loyalty and commitment, upholding its Christian heritage.”
The Educational Quality inspection reports on the quality of the School’s work. It focuses on the two key outcomes; namely, the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development, and the personal development of the pupils.
I am sure you will be delighted to read that the quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent: pupils, including those with SEND and EAL, achieve highly from their various starting points; pupils excel in sport, music, performing and creative arts, fulfilling the schools aims; pupils’ skills in all communication and mathematics are excellent and pupils are resilient, self-motivated learners, reflecting the ‘I am Grovian’ positive ethos.
Similarly, the quality of the pupils’ personal development is excellent: pupils are highly confident, modest and are well prepared for their life beyond school; pupils co-operate to achieve common goals, fulfilling their shared responsibilities as a community; pupils’ strong moral compass is fostered by the Methodist ethos and pupils form a diverse, friendly and well integrated school community.
I am, of course, absolutely delighted that all aspects of Woodhouse Grove School have been rated as excellent. The Inspectors came away with very clear evidence of the attributes which we seek to promote, namely: inspiration, challenge and Grovian Values. Our outstanding academic and extra-curricular programme was recognised and our aim to ensure that all our pupils reach their full potential was substantiated.
I would like to thank all members of staff, governors, pupils and parents who contributed to this outstanding report. Woodhouse Grove has firmly established itself as a highly successful and progressive coeducational day and boarding school with a focus on excellence in teaching and learning, and providing the best environment for pupils’ personal development.
As ever, thank you for your continued support.
