It has been fantastic to welcome a range of inspiring speakers to school this week as part of National Careers Week, giving students valuable insights into different career pathways and industries.
Monday – OG Paola Nlemchi delivered an assembly to Sixth Form students about the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship she has just started with Shakespeare Martineau in Nottingham, where she has joined the commercial property team. Paola and her colleagues spoke about the application and interview process and shared what a typical day in a busy law firm looks like.
Tuesday – Rich Hayden, Managing Director of creative agency MADEBY7, delivered a fascinating talk to Year 10 and Year 11 students about his career journey within the creative industry and the exciting projects he has worked on. Rich also shared insightful advice about promoting and protecting your personal brand and making a strong first impression with employers.
Wednesday – Erin Payne, Chief Technician and Pharmacy Business, Service & Performance Manager at BRI, delivered an open, honest and motivating talk to Year 8 about her career journey within pharmacy. Erin encouraged students to put themselves out there, take opportunities when they arise and not be afraid to try new things.
Thursday – OG Neha Kanda spoke to Year 7 and Year 9 students about her education since leaving The Grove and her role as a Solicitor in the Private Client Team at Ison Harrison Solicitors. Neha highlighted the importance of always trying your best, working hard and never giving up on your goals.

This week, students from our Eco-Committee joined forces with Bradford City FC to plant tree saplings across our grounds. The trees were generously donated by the Woodland Trust, with British Wool providing natural wool to suppress weeds and support healthy growth.
A huge thank you to Bradford City, the Woodland Trust, and British Wool for making this possible. We’re proud of every student who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference 💚

We’re incredibly proud of Ethan, one of our Sixth Form students, on receiving his North of England Rugby cap yesterday.
Despite a narrow 4–3 loss to the Midlands, Ethan scored the third try, a fantastic achievement. Well done, Ethan! 👏
