Coffee Morning – Summer 2025

It was another glorious morning at The Grove for the Summer Term Coffee Morning on Tuesday, 10 June 2025 — a picture-perfect day to welcome our wonderful community of Old Grovians, former parents, and past staff back through the Headmaster’s Entrance and into the sun-drenched Rawson Room.

Guests enjoyed fresh coffee and cake, warm conversation and a fascinating glimpse into life at the school today, thanks to Year 12 students Shreya and Liam, who shared their experiences of Life in the Sixth Form – followed by a lively and much-enjoyed Q&A session.

Our ever-popular school archives display returned, this time featuring:

• Cricket scorebooks & bat
• A handwritten and hand-painted 1955 Southerns Home Common Room recognition certificate
• The Grovian issue 1991
• A detention book from c.1970s (!)
• A swimming certificate in recognition of 200 yards and plate diving c.1945
• A wonderful collection of vintage school caps – including one marked with the number ’20’… we wonder whose that might have been!

We were also delighted to be joined by Jenifer Percy, daughter of former Headmaster Dr. Pritchard (st50–72), and her son Bruce Percy (74–85) — can you spot the resemblance?

It was a joy to reconnect and reminisce in such good company.
