Autumn Reunion & Remembrance Sunday: 10/11/2024

Remembrance Service
The Remembrance Sunday Service in Chapel was a poignant moment to honor and reflect. Highlights included heartfelt readings by Head Prefect Lucy Hanson and Mr. Tony Zammit, a thought-provoking reflection from the Chaplain, and a display of military medals, including those of Lance-Corporal William Coltsman, a Conscientious Objector who earned the Victoria Cross. The Headmaster led the Act of Remembrance, culminating in intercession prayers and the School Song, Χαίρετε!

OG Rugby Tournament
The annual touch rugby fixture on the Grainge pitch saw spirited competition between the 1999 leavers and the OG7’s/staff team. Despite an early lead by the 1999 team, the OG7’s secured victory with their speed and skill. Chris Gough received the Scott Eastwood-Smith fair play award, and Jack Popely, captain of the OG7’s, accepted the OG Rugby trophy.

Netball
The Old Grovians Netball team returned with a mix of former 1st and 2nd VII players, delivering an exciting match against the school’s 1st VII. After a hard-fought game, both sides celebrated a well-deserved 35-35 draw.

Squash
Old Grovians George Wilkinson, Finley Wilkinson, and Naomi Partridge joined current students for an engaging squash match. The OG team showcased their prowess with a 13-1 victory, offering valuable learning experiences for the students.
