Pathway Tutorial Programme.
To help our students make their dream for the future a reality, tutor groups are organised by future career aspirations and led by a tutor with specialist knowledge.

To help our students make their dream for the future a reality, tutor groups are formed according to their career aspirations. Each group is led by a Form Tutor with specialist knowledge in that field. Forms are a mix of Y12 and Y13 pupils, to give students insight into a diverse, enriching range of perspectives.
Our approach means form periods are filled with guest speakers and discussions on the issues relevant our students’ interests. Ultimately, these weekly lessons provide rare and invaluable insight into their future career path, informing their studies and preparing them for interviews and the workplace.

We encourage all students to get involved in the wide range of co-curricular activities on offer. Sport, music, House activities – it’s their chance to develop leadership and other skills. Pupils can also sign up for academic extension programmes, such as the Chemistry Olympiad.
Weekly Assemblies not only cover moral and developmental issues, but also enhance our Tutorial Programme. Guest speakers will talk about topics relevant to all career paths – for example, “The Importance of Networking in the Workplace”. This content is then contextualized for each career field in tutor group discussions.
Every half term, our Sixth Form Team carries out one-to-one academic reviews with students. These help keep pupils on track academically, ensuring they get the most out of their chosen Pathway Programme, and let us respond to any change in future aspirations.
