At Woodhouse Grove, we take sport seriously. We pride ourselves on our commitment to developing our athletes and encouraging all of our students to thrive in the sport that’s right for them.
This is a school where our athletes get the support and push they need to get to the next level. Our well-established athlete performance programme exists for students competing at the highest standard. From international sport competitions to representing their team at county level, our athletes are committed, and so are we. The school provides personalised training diaries, sports psychology, physiotherapy, fitness programming and direct liaison with external coaches, and our staff know each athlete personally, coordinating academic life around sporting ambitions.
We would never exclude those who have other dreams: sport is for everyone at this school, not just for our elite performers. Our weekend fixtures list is second to none, with incredible statistics from our last academic year demonstrating our students’ love for sport and all it entails. 76.5% of our students played in a competitive fixture last year, with an incredible 97% of Year 9 students taking part. That demonstrates not only do our students want to play sport, they want to show up for the school.
When a Grove minibus arrives at a fixture, people notice. The opposition knows they’re about to face athletes who play with pride, passion and unwavering commitment to performance. From Year 7 to Year 13, every student who pulls on that shirt understands one thing: the Crest sets the standard, and we rise to meet it.
This isn’t just school sport.
This is Grove Sport.
Respect. The. Crest.
