Globalbridge – helping Grovians stand out from the competition

As one of the first schools in the country to sign up to the Globalbridge digital platform, we are empowering our pupils to take charge of their future.

From Year 7, each student is given a a unique, digital Globalbridge profile. Students can not only upload their academic achievements to the Globalbridge platform, but also a biography, aspirations, photos, sound bites, electronic documents and even video footage showing sporting highlights, drama productions and musical performances. Fortnightly Future Fridays sessions provide pupils with a regular opportunity to update their profiles, which are visible to both staff and parents. When the time comes, profiles can be shared with universities or employers, showcasing a pupil’s talents, skills and qualifications.

The benefits of Globalbridge are numerous:

• Students are able to develop a positive digital footprint on a secure platform, away from social media – learning the importance of shaping their online presence responsibly.
• The embedded Skillsbuilder tool allows student to reflect on what they have gained and developed from each uploaded experience and enables them to assess and rate their progress.
• The Globalbridge platform supports the school’s ethos of placing great value on each individual student’s unique skills, talents and achievements and teaches pupils the benefits of participating in a wide range of activities and planning ahead.
• Whether applying for university, an apprenticeship, work or work experience – a Globalbridge Digital Learner Profile helps Grovians stand out from the competition.
• Students have access to their Globalbridge profiles for life and so can use the platform as an ongoing record of experiences and achievements, evidencing the development of skills for future life and work.
