Grovian representing our nation at the highest level in international rowing

Congratulations to Old Grovian Andrew Mettrick (13-20) who has won the U23 World Rowing Championships with the GB 8’s squad held in Bulgaria (19-23rd July).  The final race saw the GB team secure a 2 second win over USA and Germany.

Andrew has just finished his 3rd Year at Durham University and has one more year of his integrated masters degree left. He was selected for the GB U23 rowing squad early in July to attend the world championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

He is now recognised as one of the highest class oarsman in the country and all of the Grove community are incredibly proud of his outstanding achievement.
